Cantaloupe-Basil Salsa

2 cups diced cantaloupe

1/4 cup finely chopped sweet onion

2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil

1 (2-inch-long) fresh hot red or green chile such as serrano or Thai, minced (including some seeds)

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

Toss together all ingredients in a bowl and let stand, covered and chilled, 10 minutes. Serve with grilled chicken or fish.  From Gourmet, July 2003
