I want to point you in the direction of our website for two features that have recently been added.
The first addition is the establishment of a repository for our newsletters, located here. As newsletters are filed on Friday and Saturday for boxes the following week, we are posting them on the Next Week’s Box page on the website and in the archives. This way you can look at the suggested recipes ahead of time and make sure you have all of the ingredients on hand. It’s also handy if you’ve misplaced a hard copy of the newsletter and would like to recover a favorite recipe.
Second, in our effort to connect you with the growers that make up the Terra Organics network, we have a new Podcast interview with Paul Madden, From Earth Conscious Organics (ECO). Listen here. ECO is a grower and a broker and brings us lots of great fruit from Eastern Washington.
With the impending freeze out at the farm, we’re busy protecting the crops that can be saved (mostly greens), cutting all of the winter squash for storage, and readying the tools and equipment for a lot of root diggin’. We have oodles of celeriac, turnips, rutabaga, beets, carrots and potatoes to last the winter (we hope). If not, we plant more next year. This upcoming week, the first super-sweet parsnips will be in Regular, CSA and Veg boxes. Enjoy!
